General Description
Summer Language Adventure(SLA) offers an effective small-group language course combined with an adventure in Canadian culture and lifestyle. In July and August, LSC welcomes teenagers from ages 12 to 17 from diverse areas of the globe to Toronto.
Classes are offered in small groups. The programme provides language learning in an entertaining and meaningful context. Speaking and listening take priority.
Language Adventure activities are chosen to ensure that students are offered a balance of sports with a variety of interesting cultural outings. LSC Monitors ensure that our young clients are well-supervised during activities.
SLA Toronto's residence programme ensures a safe and exciting stay. The residence, cafeteria, and classrooms are all in the same building. It is centrally located in the heart of Toronto - close to the main tourist attractions and shopping.
As an option, students can choose homestay. Students in homestay must be more independent as they will have free time during the day.

Instruction
There are 3 hours of class each morning. A full-time Programme Co-ordinator is available during class hours to provide a link between the SLA campus and the LSC office. SLA students have classes and lunch on site.
After all afternoon activities, SLA Monitors return the students to LSC. Students who have chosen the residence option spend supervised time working on their homework and eating dinner.
Homestay Accommodation
Three meals are provided daily (bag lunch during school days).
Homestay provides students with the opportunity to use their new language in real-life situations. Students get a first-hand look at the way Canadians live.
In Canada, it is usual that both the homestay hostess and host work outside of the home during the day. Language Adventure students in homestay are responsible for going to school and returning to homestay by themselves.
Included Afternoon Activities
Designed for teenagers, the Language Adventure offers a balanced blend of activities that introduce students to the city and its culture as well as providing them with many opportunities to participate in sports. Toronto is host to several festivals, artistic and cultural events. The planned schedule takes advantage of the city's many attractions.
LSC Monitors supervise our young students during the day activities programme. They also act as guides on outings and as team leaders for sports. The Monitors are chosen for their experience working with or leading young people in group settings. All transportation and fees are handled by the school. Activities are subject to change.
